Modern technology
At Lotus Dental we use the latest technology to ensure the best result for you with minimum intervention.
Digital X-rays
Using
digital X-rays uses 50% less radiation.
It also gives an immediate result - no waiting around
for the plate to develop.
DIAGNOdent
Using
DIAGNOdent technology allows us to catch more areas of decay sooner and with more precision. It requires no X-rays,
and is a relatively comfortable procedure. Not only can it help prevent the spread of decay, but catching decay
early means fillings required are simpler and shallower, preserving more of the tooth.
It also enables us to objectively monitor any suspicious areas without repeated x-rays, harm to tissues, or need
for protective measures.
Ozone
Ozone is a
potent anti-bacterial and anti-viral agent.
It can be used to sterilize cavities prior to placing fillings which means
there is less drilling and more sound tooth structure left in place. It is ideal for reversing early decay in children
without having to drill at all and can be applied into periodontal pockets in the treatment of gum disease and to
root canals to eliminate bacteria before filling the canals.
We also
use it to sterilise the water we use in our dental units, ensuring the cleanest possible water with no chemical
residues, for enhancing wound healing and to accelerate the effects of bleaching products in tooth whitening.
Joint and muscle computer diagnostics
We use the latest technology to ensure that your jaw and muscles are working together properly.

Joint vibrational analysis
Using ultrasound to record joint noises and diagnose joint joint pathology in a minimally invasive way.
Computerised electromyography (EMG)
Patterns of muscle contraction and relaxation help us to ascertain whether the jaw is in a neuromuscularly
balanced and comfortable position, and to determine to effects of body posture on the jaw muscles.
Jaw movement analysis
Jaw movement analysis allows us to place the teeth in a balanced position with the muscles and jaw joints, and to
diagnose any problems which may interfere with smooth comfortable jaw movement and tooth occlusion.

Zoom whitening
We use
the state-of-the-art
Zoom bleaching
system.
A gel is applied which is activated by light. This achieves
an ‘instant’ whitening of the teeth over a one & a
half hour
appointment and is followed up by a home bleaching kit to
continue the whitening process to the desired level
